We recently took our first flying adventure as a family of 3 (4 if you count baby #2 who’s on the way). And I am pleased to say that all of the traveling went exceptionally smooth. Now, we did have some minor bumps throughout our stay, but overall our experience of flying across the country with a toddler couldn’t have been better.
Not only was it the first time for Z to fly, but it was also the first time either of us has gone on a work trip with Matthew. Add those two things together and surprisingly Matthew was the stressed one, which is a complete rarity. But once we landed I think he started to relax and breathe a little easier. 🙂
Z now has a new fascination and favorite word…plane (or “mane” as he calls it)
Our first family flight.
Clumsy Ninja on the iPad was a big hit…at least for Z, maybe not for the lady across from us. haha
Welcome to Los Alamos!
Since Matthew was working each day, Z and I had to venture out mostly on our own.
The Valles Caldera
What do you know, there is some green in Los Alamos!
Selfies with Mommy.
Walking the trails.
Self face painting at the Santa Fe Children’s museum. Hmmm..I wonder if he’s imitating the way I put on make-up??
More fun at the museum included water games, bubbles, life-sized blocks, chimes and more.
Rio Grande from Overlook Park
And finally, swimming at the hotel.
The vastness of Los Alamos is definitely different from the snug hills and mountains of East Tennessee, but each reflects the greatness and beauty of our God who created them.
“Bless the Lord, O my soul! O Lord my God, You are very great; You are clothed with splendor and majesty…He established the earth upon its foundations…The mountains rose; the valleys sank down to the place which you established for them…O Lord, how many are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all; the earth is full of Your possessions.”
Psalm 104: 1, 5, 8, 24
